Busy weekend

My sweet 4 year old is 5. Her birthday was on the 8th, but we were in Canada, so we celebrated her birthday on Saturday with a fun party at the near by park.

She asked for a princess castle cake. Here is the first step. She wasn't seeing the vision.

The next step in the decorating process. Keileigh wasn't very sure at this point. She liked the purple frosting, but wasn't seeing the whole picture

She was liking the HoHo's. The more frosting the better. The vision is becoming clearer. And now...drumroll please:)

The princesses are in!!

She loved it!! The vision was complete.

Should I add cake decorating to my list of interests? No, not really. I will do it for my kids/extra kids, but I don't think it would be for a living.

Now, just for your own enjoyment, a picture of the oldest of my children, or husband, sometimes I forget which. He's just a big kid at heart:

We had a great day!! Most importantly, she did. I would post more party pictures, but I don't know how the other parents would feel about their child's picture on the web.

Oh! I almost forgot, the cake was a big hit!!

Finally!!!

I have been quite busy of late. Summer has not been lazy for me. We have been on vacation, moving a child out of the home, in home daycare and getting my CDA. Oh and fair. My daughter had a bunny win champion in it's class and reserved champion in another. Really cool!!

I know I have been promising to post some finished projects and here they are!! About time, huh?

This is the Barcelona skirt. I made one in the A-line and....

one of the layered skirts.

It was a very fun pattern to make.

I also made a Emmeline apron. That was a fun pattern to make.

I couldn't decide what material I wanted to use. Material Mart had some really cute rooster material, I love roosters and this Dick and Jane collection. I chose the Dick and Jane because it combined my strong like of cooking and children. Oh, I love children. I realized how that seemed.

Now, on the knitting front:

As you can tell, I still have to weave in ends and pick up stitches around the neck and arm holes to finished the tank, but I just wanted to get it posted. I will post it when it is finished.

Well, I am being summoned by the 5 year old.
